(The Framework for Leaner, Smarter Execution)
Marketing is getting more complex.
There are more tools, more tactics, and more expectations—often with the same headcount.
So what happens?
- Teams get overwhelmed
- Execution slows down
- CEOs get dragged into tasks they shouldn’t be touching
But there’s a better way.
It starts with knowing what to delegate, what to automate, and what to elevate.
This is the framework I use to help purpose-driven businesses unlock performance—without hiring a 10-person team.
The 3-Part Framework: Delegate, Automate, Elevate
Delegate:
These are tasks that don’t require your time, brainpower, or leadership. They’re important—but not strategic.
Examples:
- Scheduling social posts
- Uploading blogs
- Formatting emails in your CRM
- Basic Canva graphics
Who should do it?
A marketing coordinator, VA, or junior team member with clear SOPs.
Automate:
Tasks that follow a repeatable rule or logic. These are perfect for tech tools, AI, or simple workflows.
Examples:
- Lead follow-up emails/SMS
- Routing enquiries based on form fields
- Scheduling reports or dashboards
- Auto-generating first drafts of copy
What to use?
Go High Level, Make, Zapier, ChatGPT, Tidio, Notion AI
Elevate:
This is the work only YOU—or a senior strategist—should be doing.
It’s high-leverage, high-impact, and requires context.
Examples:
- Marketing strategy
- Message-to-market alignment
- Campaign ideation and prioritisation
- Reviewing performance and pivoting based on insight
Who should do it?
You as the CEO—or your Fractional CMO.
Real Client Example: Reclaiming 20 Hours/Week
A $6M wellness brand came to me with a common problem:
The CEO was “helping” with marketing… but really just holding everything up.
We ran a simple Delegate-Automate-Elevate exercise:
- Delegated scheduling, uploading, formatting to the VA
- Automated all nurture emails and CRM tagging
- Elevated strategy and team leadership to me as their Fractional CMO
The result?
- The CEO reclaimed 20 hours/week.
- Campaigns launched faster.
- The team had clarity on who did what—and why.
How to Use This in Your Business Today
Grab a whiteboard, spreadsheet, or Notion board.
List out every recurring marketing task.
Then ask:
- Can this be delegated with a clear SOP?
- Can this be automated with a tool or workflow?
- Is this a strategic task I need to elevate and own (or delegate to a CMO)?
Even one hour saved here creates massive leverage over time.
